PhD opportunity at the Optical Coherence Tomography and Interferometric Techniques Alike (OCT-ITA) laboratory, Department of Physics, Politecnico di Milano, Italy.

The project is focused on Spatio-Temporal Optical Coherence Tomography (STOCT) for ultrafast volumetric vascular imaging, with the goal of reducing Doppler artifacts and enabling earlier diagnostics of human eye diseases. The research combines advanced optical imaging, biomedical instrumentation control, image and data processing, compressed sensing, and deep learning.

The position is funded by the Tech Europe Foundation (TEF) and offers a competitive net salary of €1,750 per month for three years. TEF mentoring, workshops, and training activities are included to support interdisciplinary development and translation from lab to industry.

Eligibility: applicants should hold a Master's degree in Physics, Engineering Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Communication Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field. The degree must be completed before 1 November 2026.
