About this position
Immediate PhD opening in the research group of Avra Bandyopadhyay at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU), United States.
The project focuses on CrSBr-based advanced semiconductor and quantum devices, with opportunities to explore emerging low-dimensional materials, device physics, fabrication, and optoelectronic/electrical characterization. The work is closely connected to a CINT project and includes collaboration with researchers at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), with possible access to the Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies (CINT).
Students will also benefit from PVAMU’s newly developed cleanroom and semiconductor materials characterization infrastructure, including Raman/PL spectroscopy, micro/nanofabrication, and device characterization capabilities.
Preferred preparation includes Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related field. Experience or interest in semiconductor devices, 2D/quantum materials, materials characterization, and/or micro/nanofabrication is especially relevant. Strong motivation for experimental research and collaborative work is emphasized.
