PhD opportunity in aquatic ecology, limnology, and biogeochemistry at Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR), Canada. Dr. Morgan Botrel is recruiting a PhD student for a project on the ecology and biogeochemistry of lake littoral zones in eastern Québec, with a particular focus on submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) and charophytes.

The selected student will lead three field seasons in lakes across the Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie regions, with a possible additional season on Anticosti Island. The role also involves collaboration with graduate students and regional partners, building and analysing a large-scale SAV database, and developing independent research questions within the broader project.

Research interests aligned with this opening include ecosystem ecology, community ecology, conservation biology, and charophyte ecology. The post is especially relevant for candidates with backgrounds in ecology, biology, geography, or related fields.
