Dr. Morgan Botrel is recruiting a PhD student for a project on the ecology and biogeochemistry of lake littoral zones in eastern Québec, with a particular focus on submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) and charophytes . The selected student will lead three field seasons in lakes across the Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie regions, with a possible additional season on Anticosti Island. The role also involves collaboration with graduate students and regional partners, building and analysing a large-scale SAV database, and developing independent research questions within the broader project. Research interests aligned with this opening include ecosystem ecology , community ecology , conservation biology , and charophyte ecology .
