About this position

PhD opportunity at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) in a multidisciplinary research group working on cancer biomarkers, inflammation, and artificial intelligence. The project aims to understand molecular and cellular alterations linked to inflammation and cancer biology, and to identify novel biological signatures with translational potential for more precise diagnosis and patient stratification.

The research environment combines expertise in molecular and cellular biology, cancer biology, biomarker discovery, pharmacology, nanotechnology and sensing technologies, and AI/data analysis. This is a predoctoral position through the FPU-UAM PhD fellowship programme.

Candidate requirements include a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree that qualifies for PhD studies under FPU-UAM rules, and a minimum academic grade of 8.5/10. Suitable backgrounds include Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biomedicine, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, or related areas. The post values prior experience in molecular/cellular biology techniques, cell culture, molecular characterization, biomarker research, cancer biology, inflammation, bioinformatics, and artificial intelligence.

To apply, send a CV, academic transcript, a short statement of research interests and motivation, and contact details for two academic/research references to [email protected]. Deadline: 20 September 2026.
