About this position

University of Luxembourg is advertising a PhD / doctoral researcher opportunity in Tax Law within the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF). The position is supervised by Professor Werner Haslehner and is embedded in a supportive research group working on tax law, with access to seminars, conferences, and a multilingual, international academic environment.

The successful candidate will prepare a doctoral thesis in tax law. Applicants are encouraged to propose their own research topic, and projects with particular relevance to Luxembourg tax law and the development of Luxembourg legal doctrine are especially welcome. The role also includes limited teaching duties of about one to three hours per week in tutorials and small-group teaching.

Eligibility: a Master’s degree in tax law is required. Applicants must show at least B2-level proficiency in the language of the thesis. The university notes that the thesis may be jointly supervised with another university.

Funding: this is a full-time fixed-term doctoral researcher contract for 36 months, with a yearly gross salary of EUR 43,445.
