The role is a PhD student position with a 3-year temporary contract, paid at pay group 13 TV TU Darmstadt, and offered at 100% employment. The post includes the opportunity for further qualification through a doctoral dissertation.

Typical duties include cutting-edge research on the mismatch between software systems and hardware systems for AI and data analytics, plus work in data management systems, programming languages, and compilers. Teaching support is also part of the role, including lectures, practical courses, seminars, and supervision of student research projects.

Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold an M.Sc. or Diploma with very good performance in computer science, computer engineering, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or related fields. Strong programming skills in C++, Rust, Scala, or Haskell are required, along with excellent spoken and written English. Prior knowledge of databases, programming languages, or compilers is an advantage.
