The research focuses on B4-RAF kinase signalling complexes as intracellular signal integrators in Arabidopsis thaliana, combining plant molecular biology, protein biochemistry, functional proteomics, quantitative live-cell imaging, and genetics.

The successful candidate will identify and validate components of B4-RAF signalosomes, study how these complexes assemble and localise under different environmental conditions, and determine how they contribute to stress resilience. Methods include IP-MS/MS, FRET-FLIM, co-immunoprecipitation, confocal imaging, microfluidics-coupled live-cell imaging, and analysis of loss-of-function and fluorescent reporter lines.

Applicants should hold an MSc in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a closely related field. The role requires hands-on experience in at least two of the following: protein biochemistry, plant molecular biology, confocal microscopy, proteomics, and protein-protein interaction assays. Strong experimental planning, critical analysis, troubleshooting, independent working, teamwork, and fluent English are expected. Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 in plants or Python/R for proteomics or imaging analysis is a plus.

This is a 4-year PhD appointment (initial 18 months, then extension after positive evaluation) with a salary from €3,204 to €4,051 gross per month, plus holiday allowance and year-end bonus.
