About this position

MSCA-Doctoral Network PhD position at the University of Luxembourg in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Developmental Biology, and Cell Biology.

The project is titled “Restoring aberrant cell differentiation with peptidic β-catenin ligands” and is part of the Horizon Europe MSCA-DN FlexCAT programme. The research is led by Prof. Daniel Abankwa and focuses on the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, aberrant cell differentiation, peptide ligands, and intracellular protein-protein interactions. The work includes studying the impact of Wnt signaling on C2C12 progenitors and differentiation, developing BRET biosensors, and testing peptidic ligands in cell-based assays.

This is a PhD opening for a candidate with a science Master’s degree or equivalent. Suitable backgrounds include Biochemistry, Developmental Biology, Biophysical Chemistry, or related fields. Applicants should have strong knowledge of molecular biochemistry, fluorescence microscopy and/or bioluminescence experiments, and basic cell culture experience; experience with cellular differentiation models is an asset. Excellent English is required, and MSCA mobility rules apply.

The position is fully funded for three years with a competitive MSCA salary including a Living Allowance, Mobility Allowance, and possibly a Family Allowance. The application deadline is 31 October 2026. Applications are submitted through the recruitment portal only.
