PhD Position in Human T Cell Immunology at Karolinska Institutet Karolinska Institutet in Sweden

A fully funded PhD position is available in the research group of Professor Johan Sandberg at the Center for Infectious Medicine, Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. The project focuses on the immunobiology of unconventional T cells in humans, aiming to understand their anti-microbial activity, functional diversity, and adaptations in human tissues. The group is internationally recognized for its work in human immunology, particularly T cell responses to infections.

The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of research, including laboratory work, group meetings, seminars, and international conferences, and will follow an individual study plan as part of the PhD program. Applicants must have a master's degree or equivalent, demonstrate proficiency in English, and provide documentation of eligibility. Previous experience in human immunology, primary immune cells, microscopy, transcriptomics, and flow cytometry is advantageous.

The position is supported by a Karolinska Institutet KID grant and offers a contractual monthly salary for up to four years, with additional benefits such as access to a modern gym and medical care reimbursements.
