The University of Liège's GIGA Neurosciences laboratory is offering a fully funded PhD position in neuroendocrinology, focusing on the impact of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) on neurodevelopment and cognitive functions. The successful candidate will join a research group led by Dr. Anneline Pinson and collaborate with other groups headed by Drs. Julie Bakker, Anne-Simone Parent, and Charlotte Cornil. The lab is part of the GIGA Institute, a major biotechnology research center in Belgium, providing access to state-of-the-art facilities and methodologies.

The research project investigates how developmental exposure to EDCs affects key milestones in fetal brain development, potentially leading to neurodevelopmental disorders. The candidate will use advanced techniques such as stereotaxic injections, neuronal tracing, live-imaging, and tissue clearing to analyze the effects of EDCs on GnRH neuronal projections, neocortex development, and cognitive functions.

Applicants should hold a master's degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Neurosciences, or a related field, with a strong background in neuroendocrinology or neurosciences. Experience with transgenic mouse models, stereotaxic injections, or imaging techniques is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate reliability, motivation, organizational skills, and proficiency in English communication. Prior experience with laboratory animals is a plus.
