About this position
Delft University of Technology is offering two fully funded PhD positions in the areas of Optimal Control, Dynamic Game Theory, and Multi-Agent Systems. The positions are part of the European Research Council (ERC) project ARGON and are embedded within a strong, international control and optimization group at TU Delft.
PhD Position 1: Robust Game Theory for Complex Systems
This position focuses on computational game theory, robust multi-agent optimization, variational inequalities, convex/monotone games, and data-driven robust methods, with applications to complex engineering systems.
PhD Position 2: Game-Theoretic Control for Constrained Systems
This position centers on dynamic games, game-theoretic control under constraints, data-driven optimal control, feedback equilibrium seeking, and applications to autonomous systems.
Candidates should have or be close to completing an MSc in Control, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related fields. A strong background in optimization, control, or game theory is required. Fluency in English is essential; Dutch is not required. The positions offer a 4-year fully funded contract, competitive salary and benefits, and the opportunity to work in an international, high-level research environment with freedom to shape your research agenda.
The application deadline is 1 March 2026. Interested candidates should apply via the TU Delft career links provided for each position. For questions, contact Associate Professor Sergio Grammatico. Please share this opportunity with interested MSc students.
