About this position

Open PhD positions are available in Telecommunications Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC BarcelonaTech) within the Terahertz Optoelectronics Research Group.

The research topics focus on terahertz (THz) communications, integrated sensing, communications & computing, electromagnetic and inverse design, semiconductor devices, metasurfaces, and 6G imaging and sensing technologies. Project directions include next-generation THz components, reconfigurable metasurfaces and beam shaping, passive diffractive optical networks, and proof-of-concept THz communication systems.

Eligibility highlights include an MSc in Electromagnetics, Semiconductors, Computer Engineering, or a related field, along with a strong background in wireless communications or electromagnetic engineering. Programming skills and prior research experience are considered an advantage.
