The position is part of a research environment focused on the neural mechanisms underlying socio-affective and socio-cognitive processes, psychopathological changes, and plasticity through psychotherapeutic interventions. The chair is involved in the Collaborative Research Centre/Transregio 393 “Trajectories of Affective Disorders” and offers access to strong neuroimaging and behavioral research infrastructure, including a 3 Tesla MRI scanner, MRI-compatible EEG, peripheral physiology systems, TMS/fNIRS/tFUS/tDCS devices, and a multi-computer lab.
Degree level: Full PhD opening, with an option for a PostDoc track depending on qualification. The post is full-time in principle, with 75% hours for a PhD student or 100% for a PostDoc, and is limited to 3 years with possible extension.
Research areas / keywords: clinical psychology, behavioral neuroscience, neuroimaging, psychotherapy, experimental psychology, clinical diagnostics, statistics, programming (MATLAB), socio-affective and socio-cognitive processes.
Tasks include: study coordination; clinical diagnostic interviews; experimental and neuroscientific assessments; data analysis; scientific writing and publication; supervision of student assistants; participation in teaching and academic self-administration.
Requirements: university degree in Psychology or a related field; strong interest in clinical psychological and neuroscientific research; solid knowledge of statistics, experimental psychology, and clinical diagnostics; English proficiency; teamwork and communication skills; flexibility; and willingness to learn programming languages.
Funding: remuneration according to salary group E13 TV-L. The post is funded and offered as an employment contract rather than a scholarship.
