Applicants should have completed a Master’s/Diploma in Economic Geology, Mineralogy, Chemistry, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience with instrument-based chemical analysis and mineralogical characterization, knowledge of samples containing naturally occurring heavy elements, and familiarity with hydrometallurgical processing are important. Strong English scientific writing and presentation skills are required; German is an advantage.

The position is based in Freiberg, Germany, starts on 1 October 2026, and runs until 30 September 2029. It is a paid position under TVöD-Bund, with possible classification in E13, plus standard public-sector benefits.
