About this position
PhD student position in colorectal tumor immunology at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden.
The Mjösberg group is recruiting a doctoral student for a translational immunology project focused on colorectal cancer, innate lymphoid cells (ILCs), T cells, and human mucosal immunity. The project uses single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), multicolor flow cytometry, tissue dissection, in vitro lymphocyte differentiation assays, tissue sectioning, and spatial analyses including the MACSima platform and spatial transcriptomics.
This is a team-based project involving human intestinal tumor specimens and clinical/translational datasets. The role includes research work, data organization, possible supervision of other students/researchers, and contribution to common lab duties. The group describes itself as internationally recognized and embedded in a strong medical research environment.
Eligibility: applicants must have a Master’s degree in biomedicine, medicine, or immunology by the start date, or otherwise meet Swedish doctoral eligibility requirements. English proficiency equivalent to English B/English 6 is required. Experience with human tissue processing, primary human immune cell isolation/culture, and some scRNA-seq/bioinformatics analysis using R and Python is expected. Flow cytometry expertise and experience with clinical/translational study coordination are meritorious. Strong communication, organization, flexibility, accuracy, teamwork, and willingness to learn Swedish are important.
