About this position

PhD opportunity at the National Institute for Subatomic Physics (Nikhef) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, focused on the connection between ultra-high-energy cosmic rays and high-energy neutrinos. The position is based in Amsterdam, with regular in-person participation expected in cosmic-ray group meetings in Nijmegen at least every other week. Nikhef offers an open, international, and supportive research environment with strong computing and technical infrastructure.

Funding is provided through employment by the NWO-I foundation for a period of 1+3 years, with a competitive salary and additional salary payments in May and December. Applicants should have an MSc degree in (astro-)particle physics or a closely related field by the time they start, and strong software/programming skills, especially in Python, are encouraged.
