Candidates must have fluent English sufficient for writing scientific publications, laboratory experience in microbiology, documented experience in bacterial biofilm research involving foodborne pathogens, ability to independently manage complex experimental systems and troubleshoot technical problems, peer-reviewed publications demonstrating relevant experience, documented experience in bacterial gene transfer research, and the ability to work in a team, including an international team, with strong analytical thinking. Desirable assets include knowledge of flow cytometry for assessing bacterial cell viability or membrane integrity and experience with lactic acid bacteria.
