About this position
INSERM in France is advertising a post-doc or research engineer (M/F) in biomathematics or health economics for the EU Joint Action SHIELD (Strategies for Health Interventions to Eliminate Infection related Cancer).
The project aims to reduce cancers caused by infections such as HPV, HBV, HCV, and HIV by comparing multiple intervention strategies with disease-specific models. The selected candidate will work primarily on HCV screening and treatment strategies, including transmission and progression modeling, parameter estimation from databases, and economic evaluation.
Key tasks include building a mathematical model of HCV transmission/progression, producing a bibliographic synthesis for data extraction, carrying out statistical analyses, and contributing to the valorization of the economic evaluation. The role also includes monitoring scientific and technological developments and supervising Master’s 2 and doctoral interns/students.
Required background: a PhD in health economics, biomathematics, or biostatistics. Desired experience includes professional work in mathematical modeling or health economics. Applicants should have knowledge of mathematical modeling, medical economics, biostatistics, data collection and analysis, programming in Python, R, or C++, and fluent written and spoken English.
