About this position
Post-doctoral position in drug development is available at the Westermarck laboratory, Turku Bioscience Centre, University of Turku, Finland.
The project focuses on evaluating the therapeutic potential of targeting CIP2A, a PP2A inhibitor protein with a central pathogenic role in certain incurable cancer types and other diseases. The group highlights recent advances suggesting exciting opportunities for direct targeting of CIP2A. The work is embedded in a strong cancer research environment with excellent core facilities and a large biomedical campus.
Applicants should have a PhD or be close to completion, with solid hands-on experience in protein chemistry and protein interaction technologies. A first-author publication directly related to the field is required. Preferred experience includes small molecule development, high-throughput screening, structural biology methods, and computational structural analysis. Strong teamwork and communication skills are also valued.
The position is fixed-term and starts on 1 January 2027 or as agreed, continuing until 31 December 2029. The working language is English. Salary follows the University of Turku salary system; a Postdoctoral Researcher typically earns about EUR 3,700–4,000 gross per month, while candidates without an officially completed PhD may initially be appointed as Project Researcher for one year at about EUR 3,200–3,300 gross per month.
