About this position

Łukasiewicz Research Network – PORT Polish Center for Technology Development in Wrocław, Poland is recruiting a Postdoc (Chief Specialist – Senior Research Engineer) in the Functional Macromolecules and Porous Materials Research Group.

The project begins on 4 January 2027 and runs for 24 months. The successful candidate will focus on the design, synthesis, and optimization of lanthanide-doped metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for photocatalytic hydrogen generation from water. This is a research-intensive position in chemistry and materials science, with a strong emphasis on porous materials, catalysis, and advanced photocatalyst development.

The researcher will work in an international collaborative environment and will closely interact with a high-throughput automated laboratory at the University of Zurich to accelerate the discovery and optimization of targeted photocatalysts. Duties include supporting laboratory and equipment maintenance, analyzing experimental data, preparing scientific reports and project deliverables, coordinating with research partners, disseminating results at national and international conferences, and publishing in high-quality scientific journals.

This postdoc opportunity is suitable for an established researcher with a strong background in metal-organic frameworks, heterogeneous catalysis, and/or photocatalysis. The announcement states that applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry, materials science, or a related equivalent field, with at least B2-level English and the ability to work both independently and in a team. Additional desirable experience includes knowledge of lanthanide-based materials and skills in organic linker design and synthesis.

The position is offered as a full-time contract in a postdoctoral role (Chief Specialist – Senior Research Engineer). The offer also mentions co-financing for private medical care, a sports card, group life insurance, and support from the Social Benefits Fund. The vacancy is not funded through an EU Research Framework Programme.

Application deadline: 15 November 2026, 23:59 (Europe/Warsaw). Candidates should apply via the recruitment website link provided in the announcement and review the NCN OPUS 30 LAP postdoc eligibility requirements referenced in the posting.
