About this position
Postdoctoral opportunity at Gdańsk University of Technology, Poland, in the Department of Functional Materials Engineering.
The project (AMIMS) focuses on high-temperature corrosion of additively manufactured ferritic steels for solid oxide fuel cells and electrolysers. Research questions include how additive manufacturing, heat treatment, and surface modification influence oxidation and material degradation, and how protective coatings can improve performance.
Applicants should hold a PhD in materials science, metallurgy, chemistry, physics, or a related field. Desired experience includes high-temperature corrosion and oxidation, alloy metallurgy or additive manufacturing, microstructural characterisation, and surface chemistry, surface engineering, or protective coatings. Experience with thermogravimetry, electron microscopy, surface analysis, or Thermo-Calc/DICTRA would be an advantage.
This is a full-time, fixed-term research position with a gross monthly salary of PLN 11,600–13,400, depending on experience and qualifications.
Deadline: 6 November 2026. Planned start: 1 January 2027.
