About this position

A postdoctoral fellowship is available in the Department of Imaging Physics at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

The position is hosted in the laboratory of Dr. Chengyue Wu, whose research focuses on computational precision oncology and the integration of computational and mathematical approaches with emerging biomedical imaging techniques to improve the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of human cancers.

Current projects include image-guided computational modeling (“digital twins”) to predict and optimize cancer treatment response, especially for breast cancer, as well as development of deep learning models, longitudinal image analysis, and multi-modality data integration for early breast cancer detection.

The fellow will work on interdisciplinary research in image-guided precision oncology and personalized cancer healthcare, with opportunities to build skills in quantitative imaging, image analysis, artificial intelligence/deep learning, mathematical biomechanical modeling, inverse problems, and uncertainty quantification.

Eligibility: applicants should hold a Ph.D. in natural sciences, computer sciences, applied mathematics, engineering, or a related field, or a medical degree. Experience with machine learning, deep learning, mathematical modeling, or medical image analysis is preferred. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is not required.

This is a postdoctoral fellowship, not a clinical training program. The appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal for up to three years. The posting does not list a deadline or stipend amount.
