About this position

KTH Royal Institute of Technology is advertising a postdoctoral position in complex fluid flows within the Fluids and Surfaces Group and the FLOW center in Stockholm, Sweden.

The project is part of an ERC-funded research program and offers an excellent environment for developing an independent research profile in fluid mechanics. The research scope is broad and includes turbulence, multiphase flows, interfacial phenomena, biofilms, surface engineering, computational fluid dynamics, scientific machine learning, direct numerical simulations, theoretical modelling, experiments, and data-driven methods. The exact direction will be adapted to the successful candidate’s expertise and interests.

The position is especially well suited to researchers who want intellectual freedom, strong scientific collaboration, and access to advanced experimental platforms, numerical simulation tools, and high-performance computing resources. You will work with PhD students and researchers, publish in leading journals, contribute to new research directions, and support the supervision of doctoral and master's students.

Eligibility requires a doctoral degree or equivalent foreign degree by the employment decision date. Applicants should show strong research expertise in fluid mechanics, the ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills in English. Preferred qualifications include a PhD awarded within the last three years, supervision or teaching experience at university level, and international research collaboration experience.

The position is a temporary full-time appointment for up to two years, with a monthly salary. KTH emphasizes equality, diversity, and equal opportunity. Applications must be submitted through KTH’s recruitment system by 2026-08-25, and the application should include a CV, transcripts and diplomas, translations if needed, and a short statement describing research interests and future goals.
