About this position
KTH Royal Institute of Technology is advertising a Postdoc in Development of Anaerobic Processes for Bioplastic Valorization within the KTH Bioconversion Group and the Environmental Biotechnology cluster of the Industrial Biotechnology department.
The project is linked to VALORBIO and funded through Water4All - Partnership. The research focuses on anaerobic processes, bioplastic degradation, bioconversion, process design, microbial ecology, and the conversion of biodegradable plastic waste and food waste into value-added products such as volatile fatty acids and biogas. The work also includes separation and purification of bioproducts and collaboration with academic and industrial partners.
This opportunity is aimed at a motivated researcher with a background in Environmental Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related field. Strong experimental experience in anaerobic bioreactor design and operation, wastewater or waste-stream research, bioplastics analysis, and microbial ecology tools is expected. Excellent English communication and scientific writing skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
The appointment is a temporary full-time postdoctoral position for up to two years. The ad notes that the candidate may also contribute to teaching and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students. Preferred qualifications include recent PhD completion, diversity/equal opportunity awareness, and teaching/supervision experience.
