About this position
Tu Delft (Delft University of Technology) is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for the Healthy Joints flagship project in the area of multiscale musculoskeletal modeling, knee loading, and osteoarthritis. The role sits in the Biomechanical Engineering department within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and focuses on the work package “Multiscale modeling pathomechanics of joint and tissue load in vivo.”
The successful candidate will help build and refine existing multiscale models, apply them to evaluate cartilage stress in individuals with OA, and contribute to algorithm development, biomechanics and imaging data processing, and dissemination activities. The post also includes supervision of master’s and PhD students and strategic work to sustain the research line beyond the current project through proposal writing and funding applications.
This is a part-time postdoc position for 1 year with a possible extension. The post is based at TU Delft in the Netherlands. Salary and benefits follow the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, with a stated salary range of €3706–€5760 and 8–14 hours per week (0.33 FTE).
Eligibility highlights: a PhD in Biomechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Vision, Robotics, or a related field; strong experience with optical motion capture, gait or musculoskeletal data, Python, OpenSim, project management, scientific writing, grant acquisition, and dissemination. Fluency in Dutch and English is required.
How to apply: submit your application online via the TU Delft application button. Upload a CV and motivational letter, and address the application to Ajay Seth. The deadline is 31 October 2026.
