About this position
Postdoc in High-Speed Nonlinear Terahertz Imaging at Technical University of Denmark (DTU Electro), Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark.
This postdoctoral opening is centered on terahertz imaging, ultrafast THz photonics, nonlinear optics, and coherent imaging. The successful candidate will help develop a new generation of broadband THz imaging technology, including high-speed, hyperspectral, and super-resolution THz imaging using broadband THz-to-near-infrared upconversion and focal-plane-array detection.
The role involves designing, building, and characterizing a high-speed coherent THz imaging system; performing broadband THz generation, detection, spectroscopy, and imaging experiments with an ultrafast laser system; developing hyperspectral THz imaging for spatially resolved spectroscopy and material identification; publishing results; presenting at conferences; and contributing to supervision of MSc and PhD students.
Eligibility highlights: applicants must hold a PhD degree or equivalent. The ideal background includes ultrafast optics, THz photonics, nonlinear optics, optical imaging, femtosecond laser systems, THz time-domain spectroscopy, nonlinear frequency conversion, scientific programming, and data analysis. Strong independence, creativity, problem-solving ability, and excellent English communication skills are emphasized.
Funding and terms: the project is funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. The appointment is full-time for 14 months, with salary and employment terms based on the Danish collective agreement and possible supplements under DTU’s salary structure.
How to apply: submit the online application by 2026-10-25. Upload one PDF in English containing a cover letter, CV, academic diplomas (MSc/PhD), and a list of publications. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
Contact: further information from Associate Professor Binbin Zhou ([email protected]), Department of Electrical and Photonics Engineering, DTU.
