About this position
KTH Royal Institute of Technology is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow for research on innovation management for circular solutions. The position is embedded in KTH’s PROCEED initiative in Södertälje and offers a close research collaboration environment with industrial partners such as Traton/Scania and AstraZeneca.
The project focuses on how established companies can develop system-building innovations for circular resource flows and longer product lifespans. Research questions address innovation processes, barriers and opportunities for circular business models, and collaboration between firms, decision-makers, and other actors in innovation ecosystems. A key interest is how circular resource-flow strategies affect both innovation work and actual material and product flows.
The position includes empirical studies as well as the development of research-based guidelines and tools for organizations. AI support for reverse logistics, decision-making, and value creation in circular systems is highlighted as an important research area. The work is connected to innovation management and the management and organization of product development, including processes and methodology.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent foreign degree by the time the employment decision is made. The role is intended for a researcher with demonstrated scientific excellence, strong independence and collaboration skills, and awareness of diversity, equal opportunity, and gender equality issues. Preferred qualifications include a PhD earned within the last three years, teaching ability, strong communication skills, and experience in research impact and utilization.
This is a full-time temporary postdoctoral appointment for up to two years. Regular physical presence in Södertälje is required to support close collaboration with industrial partners. The position is based in Stockholm, Sweden, and the application deadline is 2026-08-23.
To apply, candidates must use KTH’s recruitment system and submit a CV, degree documents, translations if necessary, and a short statement describing their motivation, research interests, and future goals.
