About this position

Postdoctoral researcher opportunity at the University of Amsterdam in the Horizon Europe-funded EDGE project (Enhancing Democratic Support under Conditions of Geographic and Intersectional Inequalities in Europe).

The project examines the role of media and digital information environments in shaping perceptions of inequality, blame, fairness, and democratic support. The postdoc will contribute to research on:

• Media framing of economic and social inequalities
• Survey experiments on inequality perceptions and democratic attitudes
• Comparative and interdisciplinary research on media, politics, and democracy

The position is embedded in the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR) and the Political Communication & Journalism group, offering an international and collaborative research environment.

Applicants should have a background in communication science, journalism, political science, or a related field, with a strong interest in quantitative empirical research. The post is a postdoctoral opening, not a PhD or master’s call.

Deadline: 7 June 2026.
