About this position

This postdoctoral position at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm focuses on microstructure-informed modelling of fracture mechanics, combining experimental and computational research to better understand material failure. A key application is the study of the ductile-to-brittle transition in HSLA steels.

The position is described as a temporary, full-time postdoc appointment for up to two years. It is aimed at a highly motivated, team-oriented researcher with a strong background in experimental and computational fracture mechanics, and with the ability to work independently while collaborating across disciplines. The role also involves disseminating results at international conferences and in high-impact journals, supporting PhD students, and contributing to a professional and rigorous research environment.

Eligibility requirements include a doctoral degree or equivalent foreign degree by the time the employment decision is made, together with a relevant doctoral thesis, international experience, and proficiency in English. Preferred qualifications include a PhD obtained within the last three years, experience with mechanical testing and micro- or nanoscale X-ray CT, good knowledge of computational nonlinear material mechanics, teaching ability, and awareness of diversity and gender equality issues.
