Postdoc opportunity in mucosal immunology at the University of Zurich

The LeibundGut-Landmann Lab in the Section of Immunology at the University of Zurich is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to study how T cell responses to commensal fungi shape immune homeostasis. The project focuses on protective Th17 immunity in the oral mucosa, using murine models of persistent Candida albicans colonization and related host–microbe interactions.

This position is a strong fit for candidates with a PhD in immunology or a related field, especially those with experience in mucosal/barrier immunology, T cell biology, high-parameter flow cytometry, and in vivo/animal models. Experience in advanced imaging and/or bioinformatics is desirable. The lab also values initiative, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the ability to contribute to grant writing and mentoring.

The post is based in Zurich, Switzerland, within a well-supported research environment with excellent infrastructure and core facilities. The lab is associated with the Institute of Experimental Immunology at the University of Zurich and the MRC Centre of Medical Mycology at the University of Exeter.

Employment starts on 1 July 2026, or by mutual agreement, and the appointment is temporary for 2 years with the possibility of extension. Applications are due by 15 May 2026.
