About this position
Postdoctoral position in physical chemistry, nanochemistry, and single-molecule force spectroscopy at the University of Liege (Belgium), in the group of Dr Damien Sluysmans within NANOCHEM / the NanoChemistry & Molecular System group.
The project, NanoMuscles, is funded by the FNRS. The team uses AFM, optical tweezers, and other single-molecule techniques to probe, trigger, and control individual molecules in chemistry and biology. The successful candidate will study the mechano-chemical properties of functional molecules using single-molecule force spectroscopy and will join a collaborative environment with postdocs, PhD students, and staff from chemistry, biology, physics, and engineering.
Eligibility: PhD in science or engineering; excellent English; resourceful, ambitious, internationally oriented; able to work independently and in a team. Experience with AFM or optical tweezers-based force spectroscopy is appreciated.
Funding and contract: 1-year postdoc position with possibility of extension; full-time (38 hours/week). The post is funded through the FNRS project NanoMuscles and is not funded by an EU programme.
