Tu Delft is advertising a postdoctoral researcher position in the Computational Materials Science section, focused on predicting and mitigating liquid copper infiltration (LCI) in steels via atomistic simulations. The position involves close collaboration with researchers in the department and with European and industry partners including Leibniz-Institut für Werkstofforientierte Technologien (IWT), Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG, Oulun Yliopisto, and Ovako Sweden AB. The role is research-intensive and includes scientific publications, conference presentations, and contributions to future proposals.

Eligibility highlights: a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a closely related field; strong expertise in atomistic simulation methods; experience with ML interatomic potentials; a strong publication record; and excellent English communication skills.

Employment details: 3-year temporary contract, 36-40 hours per week, salary range €3706-€5760, with Dutch university benefits including pension, leave hours, training opportunities, and partially paid parental leave. The post mentions relocation support for moving to the Netherlands.
