About this position

Postdoc in Single-cell Genomics of Human Development at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

The Guibentif lab is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow for an ERC-funded project focused on single-cell genomics, human embryonic development, stem cells, and developmental hematopoiesis. The project aims to connect in vitro models of human embryonic development with in vivo developmental biology and to build new platforms for studying molecular mechanisms of embryogenesis.

The successful candidate will join a cross-disciplinary environment at the Institute of Biomedicine and the Sahlgrenska Center for Cancer Research, working with computational biology approaches to analyse high-throughput next-generation sequencing data and uncover novel drivers of mammalian embryonic development.

Eligibility: a doctoral degree or equivalent is required before appointment. The university notes that candidates who completed their PhD within the last three years are considered first, with exceptions for special grounds. Strong experience with R and/or Python, bash, high-performance computing, next-generation sequencing analysis, and single-cell workflows is expected. Applicants should also have good communication and teamwork skills and an interest in stem cells, developmental biology, and/or hematology.

Employment: full-time, temporary for two years with the possibility of a one-year extension. Salaries are set individually. No tuition or scholarship funding is mentioned; this is a salaried postdoctoral position.

How to apply: submit the application through the University of Gothenburg recruitment portal. Include a cover letter, CV with publications, proof of completed PhD, and contact details for two references. Deadline: 2026-11-11.
