About this position

Postdoc opportunity in sodium-ion batteries for transport at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. The postdoc will characterise commercial cells, assess production maturity through performance testing, conduct teardown analysis, and perform material-level electrochemistry. The experimental results will feed into modelling work on battery lifetime indicators and support the development of an existing model in collaboration with researchers in the BMS team. The role also includes publishing journal articles, presenting at international conferences, and contributing to departmental duties, teaching, and supervision of master’s students.

Eligibility highlights: a doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related field with strong battery technology knowledge; strong English communication skills; and advanced scientific research ability. Experience in electrochemistry, modelling, electrotechnology, and laboratory work is advantageous, and Swedish is a plus. The position is a full-time temporary appointment for two years with a possible one-year extension, and physical presence is required throughout the employment.
