About this position

The Lin Lab at the National University of Singapore is recruiting 1–2 Postdoctoral and PhD researchers to work on biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) in legumes under changing environmental conditions.

This opportunity is centered on the genetic and molecular mechanisms that regulate root nodule development and nitrogen fixation, with the goal of improving nitrogen-fixing efficiency and stability under climate-related stresses such as temperature and nutrient constraints. The work integrates plant genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, and plant physiology, and is relevant to sustainable agriculture, soil health, and global food security.

For postdoctoral applicants: a PhD in Plant Genetics, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field is required, along with a strong background in plant genetics and molecular biology. Experience with plant transformation, gene editing, or transcriptomics and a publication record are preferred.

For PhD applicants: a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Plant Genetics, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field is expected. The lab is looking for candidates with a strong interest in biological nitrogen fixation and plant-microbe interactions, plus laboratory experience in molecular biology techniques.

Desired skills include cloning, PCR, qPCR, Western blot, microscopy, tissue culture, experience with Arabidopsis or legumes, and bioinformatics/data analysis.

How to apply: email Dr. Lin Jieshun at [email protected] with a CV, cover letter describing your research interests and experience, and contact information for references. The deadline listed is 2026-09-20.

Location: Department of Biological Sciences, National University of Singapore, Singapore.
