About this position
Postdoctoral Associate at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, United States.
This postdoctoral opening is in the Rutgers Cancer Institute, within Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and the Department of Pediatrics and Pathology. The lab focuses on functional genomics, molecular biology, tumor immunology, and the biology of rare hematological neoplasms and aberrant cell signaling. The project uses multi-omics, mouse models (GEMMs/PDXs), and human biospecimens to identify novel therapeutic targets in collaboration with local and international partners.
The successful candidate will perform independent research and computational analyses on large-scale genomic, transcriptomic, and epigenomic datasets, including bulk, single-cell, and spatial data. Responsibilities include developing sequencing pipelines, maintaining project databases, designing validation experiments, preparing manuscripts and grant proposals, presenting at scientific meetings, and helping train students and junior staff.
Eligibility highlights: PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Biomedical Sciences, or a related quantitative field; alternatively an MD/PhD or MD with strong computational background. Applicants nearing completion of the degree may be considered if the degree is completed before employment begins. Strong programming skills in R, Python, and Linux/Unix are required, along with experience in large-scale biological/genomic data analysis, variant calling, and molecular data analysis. Preferred experience includes bulk/single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, spatial multi-omics, cancer biology, cancer immunology, and hematological malignancies.
Funding: salary is listed with a broad range and final compensation depends on qualifications and available grant/department funds. Rutgers also provides benefits such as medical, dental, retirement, leave, educational benefits, and life insurance.
Location: fully on-site at Downtown New Brunswick, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.
How to apply: submit an application through the Rutgers jobs portal. The direct posting link is included below.
