About this position
Yale School of Medicine’s In-Hyun Park Lab is recruiting a Postdoctoral Associate in genetics and neuroscience. The lab studies human brain development and neurodevelopmental disorders using human pluripotent stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), brain organoids, genomics, and molecular and cellular biology approaches.
The successful candidate will conduct independent and collaborative research on brain development, neural activity, and neurodevelopmental disease. Possible work includes stem cell culture and maintenance, neural differentiation, organoid generation, functional neural activity assays, gene-expression analysis, cellular phenotyping, and gene editing to study mechanisms of neural development and disease.
The position is embedded in an interdisciplinary environment at Yale School of Medicine, with connections to the Yale Stem Cell Center, Yale Child Study Center, and Wu Tsai Institute. The role offers opportunities for manuscript preparation, scientific writing, presentations, mentoring junior trainees, and career development toward independent research.
Eligibility: Applicants must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in neurobiology, neuroscience, genetics, molecular and cellular biology, developmental biology, or a closely related field. Strong research experience in neurobiology, neural activity, neurodevelopment, genetics, and molecular biology is required. Experience with mammalian cell culture and rigorous experimental design is expected; experience with human pluripotent stem cells, brain organoids, systems neuroscience, functional assays, or computational analysis is highly desirable.
Funding: Compensation is listed as $68,500 or commensurate with applicable experience, according to university policy.
How to apply: Email a cover letter, CV, and three references to In-Hyun Park at [email protected]. The cover letter should describe your previous research, current scientific interests, relevant expertise, and long-term career goals. Applications are reviewed until the position is filled; preferred start date is October 1, 2026.
