About this position

Rutgers University is advertising a Postdoctoral Associate position in the Brain Health Institute (BHI) within Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) in New Brunswick / Piscataway, New Jersey, United States.

The project focuses on neuroscience, especially the neural mechanisms of sensory perception, learning, and decision-making. The lab studies awake-behaving rodents performing auditory and audiovisual tasks using state-of-the-art approaches such as high-channel-count silicon-probe electrophysiology, optogenetics, opto-tagging, viral circuit tools, anatomical tract tracing, immunohistochemistry, imaging, and quantitative behavioral/neural data analysis.

Research activities include training and testing gerbils on psychophysical tasks, performing stereotaxic surgeries and viral injections, conducting in vivo multichannel recordings, applying circuit perturbation methods, and developing computational workflows in Python, MATLAB, ImageJ/FIJI, DeepLabCut, or related tools.

Eligibility: applicants must hold a PhD in Neuroscience, Biological Sciences, Physiology, Biomedical Engineering, Psychology, or a related field.

Location: Piscataway, New Jersey. Position type: Postdoctoral opening. Application: use the employer portal linked in the posting to review and submit materials.
