About this position
Rutgers University is recruiting a Postdoctoral Associate in Radiation Oncology / Cancer Biology at the Rutgers Cancer Institute in New Brunswick, New Jersey, United States. This is a full-time, fully on-site research position focused on differential protein expression in the human vascular endothelium and its relevance to normal and diseased tissues.
The lab’s research program uses peptide- and antibody-based combinatorial library selection to discover, validate, and exploit vascular biochemical diversity on endothelial cell surfaces, with the goal of identifying new vascular-targeted pharmacologics for clinical translation. The role includes independent laboratory research, experimental and bioinformatics studies, data analysis, manuscript preparation, grant writing, and presentations at lab meetings and conferences.
Required background includes a PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Computational Physics, or a related field. Applicants with strong scientific computing or experimental design experience are especially relevant. Candidates who are finishing the PhD may be considered if degree completion is documented before employment begins.
Preferred experience includes research and data analysis, molecular systems, structural biology, cellular biology, computational modeling, molecular simulations, bioinformatics, or wet-lab experimental design. Strong communication skills, publication ability, teamwork, and proficiency with common office/database tools are also required.
Compensation is salary-based, with Rutgers noting a broad range and that the final offer depends on qualifications and available grant or department funds. Benefits may include medical, dental, retirement, leave, educational benefits, and more.
Applications should be submitted through the Rutgers jobs portal using the official posting link. No deadline is listed in the post.
