About this position
Indiana University, Bloomington is advertising a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Dharan Lab within the Department of Biology.
The project focuses on HIV-1 research, especially the role of nuclear pore complex machinery in mediating HIV-1 nuclear entry and downstream steps leading to productive viral gene integration. The lab uses a mix of basic virology and cell biology approaches, including widefield, confocal, and super-resolution imaging, as well as flow cytometry.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in virology, preferably with HIV-1 research experience. Required experience includes cell culture, viral vector production, viral infection assays, basic cloning, microscopy, flow cytometry, CRISPR knockout/knock-in methods, and the ability to analyze data and plan follow-up experiments. Preferred skills include image analysis and mass spectrometry. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment, assist graduate students, supervise undergraduates, present in lab meetings, and contribute to publications and external funding efforts.
