About this position
Postdoctoral Fellow position in Corneal Innervation Microphysiological Systems at the University of Utah, within the Biomedical Micro-NanoSystems Laboratory. The project focuses on building innervated cornea chips with integrated EIS barrier monitoring to study corneal innervation mechanisms and support therapeutic development.
The role is well suited to candidates with training in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, cell/molecular biology, neuroscience, microfabrication, microfluidics, tissue engineering, mechanobiology, or electrophysiology/impedance. The postdoc will independently design and troubleshoot experiments, lead first-author manuscripts, mentor students, and help shape the lab direction.
There is strong clinical collaboration with the Moran Eye Center, plus structured support for fellowship and career-development applications such as NIH K99 and foundation awards. The appointment starts as a one-year position and may be renewed up to 3 years or beyond depending on performance and funding.
Applicants should have a PhD held or imminent, a strong first-author publication record, and evidence of independence and collaborative leadership. Preference is given to candidates with a background in corneal biology or related areas, and a strong cell and molecular biology background is considered a plus. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
To apply, email [email protected] with the subject line Innervation Postdoc Application. Include a cover letter, full CV with publication list, and contact information for 2–3 references. A representative publication or preprint is welcome. Review continues until the position is filled.
