The post is part of the project ANTIPASTI (“Adapting to climate risks via landscape-scale solutions: effects of peatland restoration on floods and water browning”), funded by the Research Council of Norway and carried out with partners including Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, EPFL, NIVA, and the University of Trento. The research focuses on how peatland restoration changes water retention, transformation, release, flood modulation, and aquatic carbon fluxes.
The successful candidate will conduct high-quality research using field investigations, modelling, and data-driven analyses, with responsibilities including field research, dataset curation, scientific publications, conference participation, and collaboration with the project team. There is also scope for co-supervision of master’s and PhD students and other career-promoting academic work.

Applicants should have relevant research experience, peer-reviewed publications, strong English writing skills, interest in fieldwork, and preferably experience with UAV-based surveying, numerical/analytical modelling, and programming.
Funding and conditions: the position is a 3-year appointment, conditionally funded externally, with salary from NOK 633,400 gross per year before tax depending on qualifications and seniority. The candidate must start no later than 1 March 2027.
