About this position
Stanford University is advertising an open postdoctoral position in the Department of Pathology for a faculty mentor, Maneesh Kumar Misra. The project is centered on immunogenomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics to study the complexities of human diseases and transplantation and to translate findings into improved treatments.
The role is designed for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher who wants to build expertise in immune repertoire analysis, single-cell and multi-omics approaches, bioinformatics, study design, data interpretation, manuscript writing, and grant writing. The post also emphasizes presentation skills for internal meetings and external conferences.
Eligibility highlights include a recent MD or PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, data science, or a related field. Applicants who have recently submitted their PhD thesis or are about to submit it are encouraged to apply, but the degree must be completed before the start date. A strong computational background, proficiency in R and at least one additional scripting language such as Python, and knowledge of biostatistics are required. Preferred experience includes genetic association studies, immune repertoire analysis, single-cell and multi-omics data analysis, Unix/Linux high-performance computing, next-generation sequencing, immunogenetics, and translational immunology. A strong publication record and excellent communication and problem-solving skills are also expected.
Funding is a 1-year postdoctoral appointment with salary at the Stanford University required minimum for postdoctoral scholars; the FY27 minimum base pay is $79,056. The start date is flexible and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
