About this position
NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Language Acquisition and Language Processing Lab in the Department of Language and Literature, Faculty of Humanities, in Trondheim, Norway.
The position is a 100% temporary postdoctoral appointment for three years, planned to start late 2026. The work is embedded in the newly awarded ERC Synergy grant SHAPE and focuses on research in language acquisition, language processing, visuo-perceptual cognition, autism, and developmental research with toddlers. The lab uses advanced methods including eye tracking, EEG, fNIRS, and robot-assisted experimental setups, and the postdoc will contribute to behavioral studies, participant recruitment and testing, data processing, analysis, and manuscript preparation.
Required qualifications include a completed doctoral degree in cognitive science, psychology, or computer design/programming; experience with technical research methods such as eye tracking, EEG/ERP, or acoustic analysis in Praat; experience with deep learning or multimodal AI for identifying behavioral cues and analyzing video and speech/language data; excellent statistical skills; prior research on autism, especially infants and toddlers; and strong English communication skills. Norwegian language skills are an advantage.
Funding details: the salary is from NOK 633,400 per year before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. The position is conditional on external funding.
