About this position

Postdoctoral Fellow position in liver cell biology, hepatocyte biology, and liver disease at the National Cancer Institute (NIH), in the Thoracic and GI Malignancies Branch.

The lab of Natalie Porat-Shliom, Ph.D. is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to study liver zonation, organelle dynamics, and how organelle-organelle interactions shape hepatic metabolism in health and disease. The project uses advanced microscopy including intravital microscopy, mouse genetics, multi-omics, quantitative image analysis, and complementary molecular approaches.

Research themes include metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease, liver cancer, tissue compartmentalization, and the interface of cell biology, metabolism, and pathophysiology. This is a collaborative, in-person training position in Bethesda, United States.

Eligibility highlights: a Ph.D. or equivalent is required. Applicants should have experience in microscopy and cell biology; preferred experience includes mouse models/animal work, image analysis, and/or omics-based approaches. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is not required.

Funding: training position with a starting stipend of $67,200. Full-time, in-person appointment.

How to apply: submit a CV/resume, a statement of research goals, and 3 references. Contact Natalie Porat-Shliom at [email protected] for more information.
