About this position

Postdoctoral Fellow in Peptide Chemistry and Cancer Immunotherapy at Indiana University School of Medicine (IU School of Medicine, Indianapolis, United States).

The Peptide Laboratory is recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher for a multidisciplinary project focused on peptide chemistry, cancer immunotherapy, tumor immunology, and translational vaccine development. The lab has pioneered B-cell epitope peptide vaccines targeting immune checkpoint molecules and oncogenic growth factor receptors, and is advancing multivalent and multispecific peptide vaccine platforms toward clinical translation.

The successful candidate will work on therapeutic peptide vaccines targeting PD-1, CTLA-4, TIGIT, IL1RAP, HER-2/HER-3, VEGF, and other immune/tumor-associated targets; peptide conjugation using click chemistry and advanced linker technologies; structural design of conformational B-cell epitopes; and combination immunotherapy approaches. The role includes hands-on work with Fmoc solid-phase peptide synthesis, HPLC, LC-MS, MALDI-TOF, immunogenicity studies, antitumor efficacy testing, and collaboration across chemistry, immunology, oncology, and bioinformatics.

Requirements: Ph.D. in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Immunology, or a closely related field; demonstrated peptide synthesis/purification expertise; strong publication record; independent research experience; and excellent communication skills. Preferred experience includes peptide cyclization, CuAAC/SPAAC, bioconjugation, reverse-phase HPLC, cancer immunology, vaccine development, immune checkpoint biology, mouse models, flow cytometry, ELISA, and cell culture.
