About this position
Postdoctoral Fellow in Regenerative Medicine and Immunology at Auburn University, College of Veterinary Medicine, in the Scott Ritchey Research Center.
The Naskou group is seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to work on translational biomedical research focused on stem cell- and platelet-based therapeutics for inflammatory and immune-mediated diseases. The project includes studying anti-inflammatory, immunoregulatory, and antimicrobial effects of orthobiologics such as platelet lysate and stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles, as well as exploring their use in targeted gene therapy and novel oligonucleotide-based therapeutics.
The role is based in the Department of Pathobiology and involves a mentored pre-clinical research project with potential clinical translation. The fellow will investigate immune responses involving neutrophils, monocytes, macrophages/microglia, cytokine downregulation, transcriptional effects, and mechanisms of action of specific biologicals. Responsibilities also include manuscript and report preparation, presentations at lab meetings and national/international symposia, and mentoring graduate students with experimental troubleshooting, data analysis, and lab management support.
Eligibility highlights: applicants must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant biomedical science field, preferably regenerative medicine and immunology, by the appointment start date. Strong experience in cell culture, gene and protein expression assays, and flow cytometry is desired. Candidates must also meet U.S. work eligibility requirements.
Application materials: PhD transcripts, a letter of interest, and names of three references.
Deadline: October 31, 2026.
Contact: Dr. Maria C. Naskou, Search Committee Chair, Department of Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Auburn University ([email protected]).
