About this position

Postdoctoral Fellow in Signal Processing at Luleå University of Technology in Sweden.

The position is based in the Department of Computer Science, Electrical and Space Engineering and is linked to the Signal Processing group. The project focuses on quantitative non-destructive evaluation of additively manufactured metal components, including ultrasound testing, conventional material characterization, and the development of a signal processing framework for training data-driven models tailored to the task.

This is a collaborative research role with the Material Science division and industrial partners. The post includes research as the main duty, supervision of PhD and Master’s students, and up to 20% undergraduate teaching.

Eligibility highlights: applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent in signal processing, ultrasound signal processing, or a related field. Experience in non-destructive testing and evaluation, especially with ultrasound and inspection/characterization of additively manufactured metal components, is highly desirable. Strong English communication skills are required.

Employment: full-time, fixed-term for two years, with a possible extension to a third year. Start date is as soon as possible, by agreement.

Contact: Professor Johan Carlson ([email protected]) is listed for further information.
