Methodologies may include anaerobic microbial cultivation, microbial physiology and metabolism, strain-level phenotyping, host-cell assays, animal models, microbial genome sequencing, metagenomics, metabolomics, transcriptomics, single-cell or spatial profiling, and computational multi-omics analysis. The lab emphasizes experimental and mechanistic microbiology, with opportunities to translate findings from human cohorts into testable microbial interventions.

Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in a relevant field such as Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or Systems Biology. Strong interest or experience in gut microbial cultivation, microbial ecology, host–microbe interactions, and/or omics analysis is preferred.
